Why Qualtrics

Why Qualtrics – James Gorman – Research Services Account Executive – Dublin

What is your 'why'?

I have a passion for Market Research and the decisions it helps companies make. My job at Qualtrics exposes me to so many different companies and the projects they undertake.

What does your day look like?

8.30 - 9.00: Breakfast, LinkedIn & Email Review
9.00 - 12.00: I speak with brand managers, product and insights managers about the problems they are facing, the research questions they want answered as well as what they need to be successful in their role.
13.00 - 18.00: A mixture of client calls, building bespoke research solutions for clients and managing key projects currently in-field.

What is your favorite part of your role?

I get to help the biggest brands in the world conduct market research used to make decisions which have a real impact.

Any tips for someone who is considering a role at Qualtrics?

Don't give up. I was initially rejected from the interview process by an external recruiter as I didn't have enough experience. But I knew I wanted to work at Qualtrics and was persistent.

What are your aspirations in career/life?

I want to lead an Enterprise Sales Team at Qualtrics in the next 7 years.

What is your top #LifeHack?

Be relentless. When you know you really want something, do whatever it takes to make it happen. If you are rejected for a job you want, get feedback on why then apply again. If you want your next promotion, talk to your manager about what it's going to take and then put a plan in place to get there.
